What is Sales Force Marketing Cloud

As you will know Salesforce has one of the largest CRM (customer relationship management) platforms in the world and can be used for all shapes and sizes of businesses, from SME’s with less than 10 people to international hotel groups with 000’s of employees. We have been working with the platform for nearly a year now and have got to grips with it by working at the sharp end with some of our clients. I have written a brief synopsis below to allow you to understand a little bit more about the platform and how it could help your business.

So you have this massive pool of information that you have within Salesforce, but what can you do with it. Saleforce have been developing tools such as their in-built marketing tool and Pardot but more recently have developed Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).

SFMC offers a suite of digital marketing automation and analytics tools. It provides businesses with the ability to create and manage personalized customer journeys across various digital channels such as email, social media, mobile, web, and advertising.

So how does SFMC differ from other CRM tools like Hubspot or Go High Level – in essence it is harnessing the data that you gather in salesforce to use it in campaigns to your clients.

Key Salesforce Marketing Cloud Features Include:

Email Marketing: Create targeted email campaigns using the standard block builder / templates or you can dynamically populate emails using data extensions. If you are not sure how to create a data extension, get in touch with us and we can talk you through it.
Social Media Marketing: You can manage all of your social media from within SFMC
Mobile Marketing: Send your customers marketing via text (this in itself is not different from many other platforms, however it is the ability to mix / match with emails that makes it so powerful)
Advertising Studio: This will help your business create, manage, and optimize digital advertising campaigns across multiple channels, including social media, display, and search, thus alleviating the need for a 3rd party app. Agencies can obviously log in and work using all the data your company has gathered.
Journey Builder: This to me is the biggest winner of SFMC – the ability to create customer “journeys” is a key winner for this piece of software. These are often known as flows in other software, however the ability to manipulate data as to who receives what, at what time and in what medium is simply amazing!
Reporting: Because you have so many fields you can report on, there is excellent granular information that can be gathered for your company to help you engage with your clients quickly and efficiently when needed.

In Summary

Sales Force Marketing Cloud is a beast of a piece of software with enormous capabilities – it’s not cheap, but you very much “get what you pay for”
