Berkshire Show Sell out

The Royal County of Berkshire Show 2019

The project started in Mid-February 2019 working towards the 21st September RCBS show. The aim was to increase the number of trade stands to increase the variety of attractions for visitors and boost income, whilst also taking on board new sponsors for a longer-term relationship. Our goal was to ensure the long-term viability of the show.

The Results:

Trade Stands were sold out for the first time in years. An increase of 154 stands vs the previous year.

Sponsorships increased by £30,000 against the previous year, resulting in new events at the show including the Guards Polo Team from Windsor. 

Finding Sponsors

New sponsors who had not previously been involved in the show included: Regus Offices (IWG), Clarence Court Eggs, Camp Hopson, Moore Blatch, Burns Pet Food and Bell Cornwell. We used the data held by the show to create e-mail campaigns to increase the number of trade stand enquiries as well as cold calling and networking. Joining the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce enabled us to approach new sponsors and build a new rapport with local business who had previously not been involved in the show. This also led to the show being awarded the Award of Merit at the Newbury Business awards for changes to the show and inclusion of the local business community.

Networking

We also hosted networking events for bigger businesses at exclusive venues across the county to build on the idea that the show is more than a two-day event. These events are now much anticipated in the business community.

Marketing and Content Creation

Working with the Communications team at the show, we created content that would both increase trade stand sales and engage with visitors. This included social media training delivered by us, infographic creation (see below) and multiple videos of the show and the stand owners.

Following on to 2020
